Abstract: Using the multi-TW TARANIS laser system to drive proton-boron fusion, alpha particle yields above 108/shot were obtained from polymer coated boron-nitride targets using the in-target configuration. Here we will discuss these recent experimental results along with accompanying preliminary radiative-hydrodynamic, PIC and Monte-Carlo simulations.
