Laser-Produced-Plasma induced Proton-Boron-Fusion alpha-particle emission in excess of 10^10 alphas/shot have been demonstrated experimentally from solid Boron targets containing in-target Hydrogen, Ref 1. - 2. We propose to enhance the alpha-particle emission with a new type of Laser-Targets optimized for laser-plasma induced Proton-Boron-Fusion: (a) containing new, natural, Hydrogen-and-Boron-rich solid-density target materials from the Borane chemical family, for example BNH6 or B10H12; such targets would increase the in-target Hydrogen/Boron (H/B) ion ratio by over 100 times, from H/B ~1% in present experiments [1,2] to H/B~100 and even H/B=600 in BNH6 ; (c) having a microstructured target surface which provides high laser absorption in the material. The talk describes the new, proposed: (a) Borane target material: solid or liquid; (b) proposed microstructure [3] and nano-structure [4] laser-targets, made Boranes; and (c) proposed high repetition Borane liquid-droplet-or-jet-targets [5] for enhanced Flux of Alpha Particle Sources, as required by applications. The Figure shows the raw ammonia-borane powder, compressed as pellet target, and a sketch of a droplet-or-jet liquid borane laser-target.
