Abstract:

With the US announcement of the 'International Engagement Plan for Fusion Energy' at COP28, and in follow-up to the recent US-UK joint statement on fusion our panellists will discuss their perspectives on these announcements and the wider fusion outlook after COP28.

Fusion is developing fast and gaining momentum as a climate solution, the COP28 climate summit in Dubai highlighted the critical turning point reached by fusion energy and the growing consensus that international partnerships in fusion are the way forward.

"There is potential in fusion to revolutionize our world," U.S. special climate envoy John Kerry told the COP28 climate summit in Dubai.
