Call for intenship at ELI-Beamlines in 2026, supported by COST Action CA21128-PROBONO. Internships are a unique opportunity to turn theory into practice within an international research institution in the field of laser technology. Among multiple opportunities provided by ELI-ERIC we are pleased to announce the support of our COST action for the following positions:

Atomization of radiation induced DNA double-strand for break foci detection and quantification (IN_11_2026)

Characterization of Liquid Target systems for ion acceleration (IN_12_2026)

Development of laser diagnostics for laser-plasma acceleration (IN_09_2026)
Important information:
• Extract duration and working hours is based on a mutual agreement and availability
• Start is possible either on the 1st or 15th of the month
The intern accepted for each of the above positions has the oprtunity to apply for a grant of 800€ from COST Action PROBONBO. This grant is intented to cover travel cost and/or other expenses of the intern, while ELI provides financial remuneration to cover living costs during the internship.
This grant is available for interns who meet all of the following conditions:

The intern is coming from abroad to Czech Republic

The intern is affiliated to a legal entity in a COST Full/Cooperating Member or Near Neighbour Country (NNC)

The intenship has not yet started and is planned to be completed before 15 October 2026

Application for the intenrnship containing your CV and a motivation letter with clear indication of the internship subject and request for PROBONO grant should be submitted to Andrea Furst (
When you application at ELI BL will be accepted you can request the PROBONO grant. To request the grant, follow the standard procedure described for Short Term Scientific Mission (STSM) at e-COST (STSM Guide)
- complete the STSM application form
- attach a letter/email confirming your acceptance for the internship.
Upon completion of the internship, submit your reimbursement claim via the e-COST platform, along with a short report on your experience and learnings.
We would like also to have one or more photos from your internship which we can share on our website and social channels.
