The 18th Kudowa Summer School “Towards Fusion Energy” is co-organized by the the Institute of Plasma Physics and Laser Microfusion in Poland and the COST Action PROBONO. The event will take place in Kudowa-Zdrój, Poland, from 8th to 12th June 2026 and will cover a variety of topics interesting for all students involved in plasma physics research. kudowaschool.ipplm.pl
The Kudowa Summer School is a biennial event which mission to provide high quality scientific lectures to students willing to start their careers in fusion and plasma physics research and attracts participants from many countries.
BASIC PLASMA AND FUSION ENERGY • LASER PLASMA PHYSICS • MAGNETIC AND INERTIAL CONFINEMENT FUSION • TOKAMAKS, STELLARATORS AND Z-PINCHES • PROTON BORON FUSION AND APPLICATIONS • PLASMA DIAGNOSTICS AND TECHNOLOGY • SPACE PLASMA AND ELECTRIC PROPULSION
The plenary lectures given by well-known plasma physics scientists will be complemented with students' sessions. Students who are interested in giving a 15-minute talk are kindly requested to send a 1 page abstract on their research before 16th March, 2026. If the number of contributions exceeds the limit of available time-slots for the talks, a poster session will be arranged. A special prize is foreseen for the most remarkable contributor.

The preliminary registration starts on 24th November 2025 and should be done via Kudowa Summer School website: kudowaschool.ipplm.pl
The total payment for participation in the school, also including full board and lodging, is 5000 PLN. The reduced payment for early bird registration is 4500 PLN.
A significant number of students working on laser-driven plasmas and especially on proton-boron fusion, will have the opportunity to receive financial support from the COST Action PROBONO.
