On behalf of the Scientific and Organizing Committees, we are happy to invite you to the "3rd International Workshop on Proton-Boron Fusion" that will be organized by ELI ERIC (CZ), IPPLM (PL), CELIA (F), UNSW (Aus), INFN-LNS (I), FBK (I), Hellenic Mediterranean University/IPPL (GR), Xi'An Jiaotong University (China), STFC UKRI (UK), with the financial support of the HB11 (A) and Marvel Fusion (D) companies, by the COST Action CA21128 PROton BOron Nuclear Fusion: from energy production to medical applicatiOns (PROBONO), and with the support of the Italian Embassy in Prague and the Italian Cultural Institute of Prague (CZ).
The Workshop will take place at the Institute of Italian Culture in Prague from October 2nd to October 4th and at the ELI Beamlines facility on October 5th.
The aneutronic fusion reaction between a proton and a boron–11 nucleus, accompanied by the production of three alpha particles, is of great interest nowadays, both from the fundamental and applied physics point of view. This reaction, involving only abundant and stable isotopes in the reactants and no-neutrons in the products, offers a valid and sustainable alternative to the conventional route to nuclear fusion for power generation.
The main objective of the “3rd International Workshop on Proton-Boron Fusion” is to exchange new ideas and experiences among the international community active in the field of proton-boron fusion studies.
The Workshop topics will cover theory and simulations, diagnostics and target materials, advanced fusion approaches, new results and interpretations as well as applications.
A dedicated meeting of the Management Committee of the PROBONO COST Action (CA21128) will take place on October 4th (afternoon).
In addition to the Invited Lectures, abstracts for regular oral contributions are strongly encouraged.
The deadline for abstract submission is 15th June 31st July 2023.
