COST Action PROBONO can provide additional support to the selected interns for the following intenships at ELI.

- IN_10_25: Characterization of Liquid Target Systems for Ion Acceleration |
- IN_21_25: Applications of Machine Learning in a High-Power Laser System and Laser Plasma Acceleration |
- IN_6_25: Development of Laser Diagnostics for Laser-Plasma Acceleration |
- IN_18_25: System for optimization of laser focusing and target orientation (OFO) |
- IN_18_12: Study of ion beam transport solutions for laser-driven ion beam |
The grant of 800€ from COST Action PROBONBO is intented to cover travel cost and/or other expenses of the intern, while ELI provides financial remuneration to cover living costs during the internship.
This grant is available for interns:
- coming from abroad to Czech Republic,
- affiliated to a legal entity in a COST Full/Cooperating Member or Near Neighbour Country (NNC), https://www.cost.eu/Country_Organisations_Table
- not started yet the internship and will complete it before 15 October 2025.

How to apply:
Application containing your CV and a motivation letter with clear indication of the internship subject and request for PROBONO grant should be submitted to Andrea Furst (
To request the grant, follow the procedure described standard procedure for Short Term Scientific Mission (STSM) at e-COST (STSM Guide)
- complete the STSM application form
- attach a letter/email confirming your acceptance for the internship
Upon completion of the internship, submit your reimbursement claim via the e-COST platform, along with a short report on your experience and learnings.
We would like also to have one or more photos from your internship which we can share on our website and social channels.
