The Intensive School Laser, Plasma & Fusion organized by COST Action CA21128 PROBONO and the Institute of Plasma Physics and Lasers (IPPL) of the Hellenic Mediterranean University took place in Rethymno, Crete, Greece on 2-5 September 2024.
The School aims to offer exceptional scientific training to young emerging researchers interested in pursuing a career in the field of high power lasers plasmas and particularly focusing on laser fusion.
The 4-day school featured 23 hours of training, consisting of 21 lectures and two engaging workshop sessions. Poster and oral presentation sessions also took place, providing trainees with the opportunity to present their work. The first two days of the school were conducted in the city center, while the following two days took place at the IPPL facilities.
The school was attended by 42 trainees from 12 countries. Cost Action PROBONO provided funded support to 30 trainees. Two prizes for the best poster and the best oral presentation were also awarded to school trainees.
